Northern NJ Get together Pictures
Today's get together went well. Eight of us showed up to spend a few hours enjoying Straight razors and some chat. I want to thank Ed (Quicknicker), Jon (Zerocool),Mike (MJSorkin),Nelson (Bayamontate), Dan (DGilloon), Roman (NYCexit2) and John (Puff) for making the day very nice. Thanks for all the food as well, it was well received.

We were treated to some really good honing lessons by our Yoda (Ed) and Obiwan (Nelson). Nelson did some incredible work on Jnats using the Nagura stones. Ed used his incredible Escher and Coti stones on several razors and also showed us the finer points of using paste on balsa. I think everyone took away some great information about honing. Ed pinned a new set of scales for Mike as well.
John (Puff) had promised last time not to buy anymore stuff; he needed a rolling suitcase to get all his stuff into the range this time. I think we are all guilty of HAD, RAD and what ever other acquisition disorder a str8 razor user can have.
Everyone brought along incredible collections of razors, hones and strops.
Nice photo of everyone working
Ed on the Coti. That Coti was huge and gorgeous.

Setting the pins.(tap,tap,tap)
Nelson on the JNAT honing. He did a bunch of razors today.

Thanks to the Local PBA once again for lending us their range house. The interior was just completely renovated and I can say it turned out quite nice. Any of the folks who attended the last two get together could tell you how much was work was done on this place.
Here is a photo of the new bar area.
The old bar reused as another place to sit

I had a great time, lots of fun. Very special thanks to Jeff for putting the meet together and the PBA for letting us use the space. It was a pleasure meeting and seeing those of you I had already met.

Thanked: 50Yes, they nest inside each other.
Simple. Get some precut balsa slats from a hobby shop and some wood glue. Space them out at least 3/4" apart and glue them in place. And compression to set.
Get felt at hobby shop and some Spray 77. Cut to size, apply Spray 77 to felt and slats and apply one row at a time. I found having a slat as a tool to force the felt into contact with the bottom and sides helpful.
Base of tray is balsa from hobby shop. If you're going to wrap the sides of the tray be sure to take the thickness of felt into account when making measurements.
And there you go, Bob's your uncle.
