Thanked: 2209Minnesota new guys.....
This month has been really busy with new SRP guys coming over to my home.
The first is eastprussia (matt) but this is not his first time but now he is really getting into the straight razor world.
The next was Craig Zorn. He found me via a Google search!. RodB ( Rod Bell) came over to visit and help out. Glad he did. Craig had 2 new Dovo Best Quality razors that needed attention.
and the latest was John Elstad.......
John is really new to the straight razor world so it was fun to go over the basics with him.
All 3 guys were really good people and I enjoyed having them come over.Randolph Tuttle, a SRP Mentor for residents of Minnesota & western Wisconsin

Thanked: 0Thank you, Randy!
John Elstad here. I just want to thank Randy for his very generous gift of time and knowledge. I found it more enjoyable and worthwhile than I could have imagined and the four hours (!) flew by.
Shaving on my re-honed razor and identifying the right shaving cream (in my case, Al's) have made a huge difference in my shaving quality and enjoyment.* Neither would have been possible without Randy's help. Thank you thank you thank you!
*He also helped me repair my strop, showed me how best to create a soap lather, and gave me a few handy accessories to ensure I'm set for a long time.Last edited by johnelstad; 01-15-2013 at 04:43 AM. Reason: Additional comment

Randy,
Both of the times that I came over I learned a lot. I tried shaving with the Red Star that we sharpened and it worked very nicely. Right now I'm working on making a tool so that I can do some restoration on my own but I've been so swamped with work I haven't been able to finish it.
Thanks so much for your help and let me know if you need a hand with that press!
Cheers!
Matt
