Thanked: 2209A Frozen Toe Febuary road trip.......
Winter in Minnesota finally got the better of me so I decided a road trip to Kansas City, Mo and Burburnett, Texas was in order. I called Nun2sharp to see if I would be welcome once again and then called Spazola and asked him the same. They surprised me by both saying "come on down!".
I hopped into the Cadillac and drove to KC (450 miles). Kelly was home & we went Bryants restaurant where they have the biggest & best sandwiches you have ever seen.
Here is Kelly.........
The sandwiches........
and me.......
Kelly & me discussed when to get together with some of the other KC crew and decided to do it when I drove back from Texas so the next morning I started out for Texas, 480 miles. I made it there by the evening.
Charlie has a very cool workshop and has made some unique tools for forging and grinding razors and other stuff like this vice! Section of pvc pipe, garden hose and a bowling ball! ......
Here is his homemade grinder for rough hollow grinding. It works like a charm .........
and pics of a few razors.........
and 3 razors that I finished off at his place with his help........
We did make a number of videos and took a lot more pics of his work in progress razors but Charlie will be editing the videos and posting the pics of the razors.
Charlie and his family are the best hosts you could ask to meet. I am fortunate to have met them. It was a very good trip and I hope to do it again next year.
and a short video......

I had a great time.
Randy ground the smile on the white razor in no time at all. Small bevel perfect ground, I was and am a bit jealous.
Lots of fun
