Mid-Atlantic States April 27th 2013 Get Together, Meet-up, Hone-down and good time
Organizing a Get Together for Saturday April 27th centrally located in Oxford, Pennsylvania (between and only 40mi. to Philadelphia or Baltimore/about 140mi from NYC) at 200 Whiteside Dr. in Oxford. Brian Hearne of HearneHardwoods has kindly offered his beautiful shop space for us to use. I am going to give a hands-on honing demonstration and we are hoping that others will join in to provide insights into their own unique perspective on straight razor usage and care. Hopefull some will show up with full beards to give a shave-off. This is a Free Event and could be a full day meet-up including a meal if others want to pitch in as a PotLuck.

Alx, I would love to go , but I'll be working that day. The way my shift hours are it's impossible to do anything when I'm working. If it had just been scheduled a week earlier..........next time hopefully.

As much as I would like to meet my fellow SRP members, I unfortunately will not be able to attend this get-together. I hope there will be another opportunity in the near future.

Hello gents...my first post to this site!
I happen to live only about an hour and half away from Oxford and, even better, I don't have anything planned for the 27th! Woo hoo!
I took the plunge last week, Thursday in fact, and purchased my first straight and strop from Mr. WhippedDog (based on the info here and other sites...thanks gents!). By the time this meet happens I will probably have received it, cut myself a few times and abused the razor somewhat beyond my abilities to repair. I will appreciate any/all help putting it back in order and learning from the best.
