Hoping to revive interest in a NNJ/NYC straight razor meet-up, I'm wondering who else may be interested, available? After a great three month run last spring, I'd acquired fixer-upper SRs (Torry & Bismark 5/8 hollow ground, and Wostenholm wedge), and was shaving fairly well with them, but had newbie-stropped them into dullness. Then travel got in the way, and now they've been sitting awaiting rehoning for six months. I'd really benefit from meeting up with some more experience SR shavers to get hands on stropping guidance. I'm also wondering if there's anyone reasonably local who does affordable honing. I might even like to see some honing in person. As well as ask some more SR shaving technique questions.
Thanks!

NY-NJ-CT Tri-State Meet UP March 1st
Singingsteel,
Come to the March 1st meet up in Valley Stream, NY.
Nelson and Bill3152 will be in attendance. They are super nice guys with an encyclopedic knowledge of JNAT honing. I can't begin to express how kind they have both been working with me to help me learn how to hone and keep my razors in top condition. The only way to beat this would be to live next door to Lynn. But then you have to move and you know how wives and kids feel about that.
These guys will turn your razor-like butter knives into true shave-ready instruments worthy of the right to grace your face.
You get fresh roasted coffee and a bagel of choice. Heck we'll even throw in a doughnut
The admission is free.
The experience priceless.
The friendships enduring.Last edited by svcaramia; 02-11-2014 at 01:15 PM.

LIRR to Jamaica. Switch to Valley Stream line. Get off at Valley Stream stop. Take cab downstairs. Only a few $$. Go to 420 west Merrick Rd. Whole trip half hour at most
