Henk Bos dead
Henk Bos (73), also known under the avatar Margeja on this SRP forum, died on Friday the 21st of November 2014 due to cancer. He is the author of the booklets Grinding and Honing part 1, 2, 3 and 4. He was working on part 5 but couldn’t finish it. The website www.xs4all.nl/~bosq and the information booklets Info20m will be continued by his daughter Janneke Bos. She will try to continue his work as far as possible. Maybe part 5 will be published (but not at a short notice). Henk Bos wanted to teach the world about old/ancient (almost forgotten) techniques and knowledge. I think he has succeeded. His legacy is of a great value.
Janneke Bos
Eldest daughter of Henk Bos

Thanked: 246Oh my! My great condolences to his family. I had very few interactions with Henk but he seemed to be a very good man. I have read his e-booklets on honing and honing stones many times, he and his wife created a wonderful resource in that. Rest in peace my friend.

My condolences to his family. The loss of a loved one is a hard road unless that person had instilled in his family a joy for life and the need to always look forward while remembering the past. Based on the information in the OP I would say that his legacy will live on for many generations to come. I am sure the Universe will ease his family's grief and point the way forward in his remembrance.

Sincere condolences. He lives on in our memory through his work.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I'm sorry for your loss.
Good bye Mr. Henk. I've learned a lot of things from you. The hones sub-forum will not be the same without you.
You will be missed.

That's very sad news and my honestly thoughts are going to his family at this moment.
I met Henk a few times to exchange thoughts about hones and sharpening methods and I always appreciated his knowledge, his experience, his interest for the history and and his never ending thirst to enlarge and deepen the knowledge he has.
It was a great pleasure to meet him and he will always remain a friend for me.
I think all of those here in the forum that are interested in hones and sharpening know his great essays about honing. They are a fantastic source of knowledge and have been very helpful and informative for a lot of us here in the past and will be for a lot of newcomers in the future.
I love to hear that Jannecke is going to continue his great work.
Henk will not be forgotten!
