The Passing of William "Bill" Barber,,, Pixelfixed.
With sadness of heart, I bring this news of our fellow member Pixelfixed. Bill has passed away and here is the message I received from his wife Toni a few minutes ago.
"Hello John,
I received your certified letter in the mail today. Thank you for your caring and your concern. I am Bill Barber's wife, and when he could no longer get on the computer himself, he gave me his log on to this site and wanted me to check his posts. He was too ill to have me reply to them.
He died on April 4th at the Roseville Care Center where he went for rehab after he had been admitted to hospital for weakness and complications of pneumonia and end-stage liver disease.
He was really looking forward to coming home, getting back on the Internet and creating more of his brushes. That was not to be. His log in of pixelfixed is actually me, he was just using it. If you would care for more information please contact me, Toni Barber. If you could get the word out for me of his passing I would be grateful, as I do not know how to post on this site. Thank you, John for your kindness. Toni Barber"
I will have more to say on this good man and friend, when I can gather my thoughts,,,,,,,,,,,,

Wow. Terrible news. He will be missed around here. I will have to use the brush he made me tomorrow. I was just thinking about him the other day because I had not seen him.

Thanked: 2284Even though I had never met the man, he really was my inspiration for making brushes. His work was gorgeous and second to none. When I started I could only hope my work could be as good as his. In a way, he really was my Mentor, he taught me a lot of things about turning in general, as well as turning brush handles specifically.
I wish I could thank him for everything he taught me. He will be missed... RIP Pixelfixed.Burls, Girls, and all things that Swirl....

Thanked: 4830I know he had a lot of friends here, and he was pretty knowledgeable in a lot of areas. He was also a talented brush maker amongst other things. He shared quite a bit of his knowledge here. I have missed his presents and will continue too.
My condolences to his family and friends. It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!
