Default Shaving your head with a straight !!!

I have been shaving my head since 2000 with a Mach3. Since changing to using a straight on my face, I was wondering if any body shaves their
head with a straight? If so any advise is welcome. Thank you, I DO Gene

Yes, I do shave my head with a straight.
It is not that hard, you just need to go slow.
Start out doing one with the grain pass at first and leave it at that untill you get a feel for the angles and the growth pattern up there.

I started out using a double mirror set-up, but ditched that pretty fast.
Going by feel, and watching the angle of the blade using your regular mirror should do you just fine.

If you do have a full head of hair, or thereabouts, do keep in mind that you will have to cut down an awful lot of hair, so it will take a toll on your edges.
My advice would be to have one, or maybe even two, razor dedicated for the headshave only.
That way you will not be without shave ready razors for your regular shave.

Good luck with it, do ask away should you encounter difficulties.
We are quite a few who shave our heads around here

Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....

I'd like to but I don't have the confidence in getting it as smooth as I can with a DE. I might give it a go soon & touch up with a DE if needed.

Good thread! I'm relatively new to straights, and am a head shaver as well. I've been using a Head Shaver, but have tried shaving my head with a straight before as well. I've been a big fan of Head Shaver products so far.
FCB - it takes you 40 min every day to shave your head?

What kind of post-shave/aftershave do you guys use? I usually like a shiney look, one where light reflects off the dome!

I take my time and I use a lot of pre shave balms.
