Thanked: 1Behind ears
How do I shave behind my ears there is a dip on both sides that makes it hard to shave other than that I can SR really well it just those 2 areas and it looks dumb because the hair has longer stubble and the rest is clean

You can try a multi-mirror approach or by using those devices that looks like a hot wheels miniature with a cartridge attached.

Practice. I am not trying to be flippant, but that is all there is to it. Keep trying and, eventually, you will fall into the right technique. It is a problem area for me, as well, which is part of the reason I am leaving the head shave to my DE until I get my SR technique improved to the point where I am ready to give it a go.

I usually get that on my ATG pass on my neck , just be sure to stop before you get to the underside of that ear!!! Tc

I do the exact same as tc. i don't worry about skin stretching for that part. I fold my ear forward an come up from neck. I use a slight toe heavy approach to get into the hollow. Just keep at it. You will get it.

Thanked: 0I agree with Orville. I'm relatively new to the SR experience but even I've noticed that as the weeks have gone by I've managed to get a better shave each time and now hardly any nicks ever. It will come. My biggest issue was XTG around the back of my head. Not cut my ear (yet) so will have to take your word for that 😊

Thanked: 1587I'm not sure if you've seen the video I made - it was a long time ago but it shows how I do it, good or bad. There are some good bits (in terms of showing how I do it) around the ears.
In fact I've found the hardest part is not behind the ears but coming down on top of the ear where it joins near the sideburn area. That's just stretching (pull the head skin up and away from the ear, then carefully shave down toward the ear). Second most difficult is behind the ear, and there I pull the ear forward and use the tip of the razor to get the hair.
Good luck, and if you are interested in that video it's in the videos section of the forum (last post in the thread, I necroposted in there the other day because the original links were dead).

Try not to cut your ears off! Your specs or sunglasses won't stay on!! I've nicked mine regularly and they don't half pour blood. The amount of blood would make you believe you've really hacked into them, but usually it's just a tiny nick. To get bbs around the ears, just stretch and contort and shave from every direction. Keep practicing, you'll manage it!
