Just wondering if you guys use the same blade for both or a different for each. I just started shaving my head and I noticed that the blade gets full a lot faster. What do you guys do to address that situation?

When head shaving, I will use the same blade for both, with no issues. I can get four shaves, head and face, out of a single DE blade. I am currently transitioning to Straights, but I still use the DE on the scalp. All I do is rinse the blade after each pass in a given area. so, for example, when I am done up top, I will rinse before moving onto the back of my head, after which, I will rinse again, and so on.

Well I use a straight for my face but I use the Gillette fusion for my head. Can't get the courage to use the straight on my head yet.

I don't change blades for a head shave. BTW, I usually use a straight for my face and DE for my head.
To cut down on the mess, I trim my head with electric clippers, as short as possible, or make one pass with a straight and then shave with a DE. Razor still needs a frequent rinse but doesn't clog as bad.

Damn, I didn't clarify. I'm using a straight razor for both.

I'm assuming you are using a DE. But what are you using? For me I use a straight for both my face and head, and the same blade for both. But my edges get dull pretty quick from my head shave so until I get my technique and edges dialed in to where I like them I am probably going to use my straight for my face and my feather DX shavette for my head.

Don't get your question then, Why would you want to switch razors between your face and head?
Head shaving with a straight is pretty easy to clean up. Blade fills up, you wash it down the drain or wipe it on a towel. Same with the face, just not as fast, and a well honed blade will make short work of both.
Only reason I use a DE on my head is I can get a closer shave with less irritation. The straights will mow down hair but my head is a lot more sensitive than my face and can only handle 1 x 2 passes tops.

for me its the opposite. my face is more sensitive than my head. so even if the SR is too dull for my face, its usually fine for my head. thats why I was thinking about getting a cheap SR from whipped dog just for my head, and using my TI for my face. I was wondering if anyone else had that same problem.

Got it! Sounds like as good an excuse as any to buy a second razor

Indeed. It seems we've finally crossed that bridge. I just hope this isn't like my paintball hobby. That snowballed quickly.
