Just "comb" your hair with the razor. As the skin is on a bone, it's easier to keep it stretched.

He cut himself like 20 times all around his head. Ouch. I'll stick to the DE on the head and the straight on the face.

As someone who has, until a year or so back, used his straights to shave his head AND his face, I will say this . . . do NOT give up so easily.

You can see everything BUT the back of your head standing in front of the mirror. SO WHAT?!?

You need to look at the back of the head as a question of technique only. If your technique is solid for a face shave, why would that change for other areas of your head? In point of fact, the added size of a straight makes certain areas EASIER to shave (sides of your head, for example). The back of the head is an exercise in trusting your technique. My journey started with WTG passes from the crown of the head down to the collar line. Once completed (3-4 strokes), I would go over the area with my hand to assess my handiwork, and finish up with a DE. With each shave, I would progress a little bit further. Once I was comfortable doing WTG passes across the back of the head, it was a simple matter to "merge" the work I was already comfortable with on the top and sides with the back of the head to complete a full head shave. Eventually, using the same method, I was able to incorporate ATG passes on the "full back" of the head and, slowly, the rounded areas that blend with the top and sides. I never got "perfect", but I managed to make passable shaves.

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.
