Default Lookig for head shaving tips.

Ok so I spent a lot of time reading this forum before even buying the straight. Great place for intel. Been shaving about a week and love it. So I decided to go ahead and shave the head. Done it twice and seems my biggest problem is getting the back since i pretty much have to go by feel. I can get the sides and top great, since I can see them in the mirror. I know that if I just keep goin over it, I'll get it all, but my skin is still getting used to this. So I'm kinda at a balance between wanting bbs and not wanting to scrap layers of live skin off. :P Seriously considering setting up a camera of some kind behind me so I can get a good look at what im doin back there... Any tips or suggestions for shaving the back of the head? Thanks!

I do it by feel these days, but I used to use a little shaving mirror that I had installed right beside my main mirror.
When I retracted that, there was room for me in the middle, and then, faced away from the main mirror, I could easily see what I was doing thru the little one.
You will not need that for long though. You will rather quick get used to angles and stuff blindly.
The part I struggled the most with starting out, was behind the ears, but with practice, that became second nature as well.
Do check out the videos out there, they are very informative.

    Good luck with it

I started by using two mirrors; one hand-held and the one above my sink. That helped me see where I was navigating and where I was missing. Once you're able to do it by feel then you can start stretching the skin on the back of your head to get a nice, close shave. Touching your chin to your chest makes it nice and taut back there.

Thanks for the tips! I noticed another thread where someone said they stropped in between passes on the head, so I tried that this morning. I stropped in between face and head and in between passes on the head... That makes a huge difference! I didn't really see the difference stropping was making until then. Soo glad I was doing it before each shave! I figure another week or so of every other day, then I can start every day. That should also make it a little easier with less hair to come off. Skin's not quite used to it yet tho. Thanks for the help guys!
