Thanked: 59SOLD - Small Ozuku Mizu Asagi
Honing surface is 3-3/4" wide X 3-1/8" deep X 7/8" thick. 425 grams.
I found a learning curve with this stone. Advanced users can use this stone after the bevel has been set on a 1k synthetic. Not so advanced users should progress up to at least 4 or 8k when switching over to this stone and the koma. When I started honing a year and a half ago I made the move from coticules to jnats. It took me about a year to figure this stone out. Not a constant year just for this stone, I had a dozen others coming in at different times. And every now and then I would come back to this one. I've spent a good amount of time with this one more so recently because I wanted to be able to explain it to the new user because I am beginning to thin the herd down. What this hone does: It is a medium to slow cutter without nagura and water only but polishes very very well. With nagura, koma to be more specific, it cuts a little faster putting it at about medium cutting speed. I also strongly suggest that you also experiment with any slurry stones or other nagura's you may have. I've been getting spectacular results with everything from koma nagura to light green Thuringian slurry stones. Now let's address the types of razor blade metals for a moment. I have a Genco that is as hard as they come, with this stone, it will increase the time to get results but you will get them. And if completed properly, will give an outstanding shave every time. I really like this stone and have no problem keeping it, but it is the smallest of the thinning herd so it goes first. So, please ask any questions you might have. It is kind of small but I am able to get good complete x-strokes done on it.
I am asking what I have into it which is $70. I'll need another at least $10 for the small 19.5 gram koma, those are not easy to come by and I feel it is a very fair price. And then finally shipping, that will be at your expense. Small flat rate box is $6.80 for conus buyers. Please click on the external links below to view item.

Thanked: 59I forgot to add that the stone has been lapped just now and is dead flat. Also this stone is sealed to prevent cracking. This stone however does not look like it is the type to ever have that problem though. This stone also has that delicious sweet Japanese Garden smell to it. Hardness, it is certainly hard but not the hardest, probably a good 4.25 to 4.5.
This would be a great stone to get started on if you are new to jnats. Like me, you will get such a great impression from them, as I did this one, you might be tempted to start buying a lot more. I will offer a 2 day return policy on this. After you get it if you do not want it for any reason just return it to me and I will refund you the cost of the stone no questions asked. On the flip side, you'll probably like it so much you might ask me what else I have for sale....
