Default "15k" Welsh slate (welsh Thuringian)

Of the many names it's called whatever it is it's a damn good finisher. Truth be told I've been way too busy for straight razors lately and this is sitting there.

    Asking $35 plus shipping.

All I have done to it is lap it and do 100 laps on a razor.

You can find this on eBay under welsh slate by aj_1002 for the same price but shipping from U.K. is probably more expensive and you'll need to lap it. But if you're looking for one there it is.

    Thanks for looking Name: IMG_0722.jpg

I believe that one is what aj calls the Dragons Tongue. I have it and the Yellow Lake (which has been called something else too) both being very good finishers. Sometimes I use those instead of the Coticule and get some very fine results.

If that's his "15K" it's not the Dragon's Tongue. Those are a lower level of polish.

I've seen it referred to as a Welsh Thuringian some places, but mostly just titled "Black Welsh Slate." It's a pretty good rock though, mine is one of my favorite finishers.

Yep! I forgot he also sells the Welsh Thuringian which is supposed to be a finer grit that the DT and YL. Sorry, my mistake. There are so darn many stones out there its hard to keep them all straight. I have several but only a very small fraction compared to some of you guys. Besides, so far I have managed not to get bitten by the HAD bug like some out there have.........

Tintin, I saw that you responded earlier but the stone still seemed to be for sale.

Solitarysoldier, tintin has first dibs as far as I'm concerned. If he doesn't take it, I will.
