Thanked: 351Barber's Delight YellowGreen Escher 5 7/8" x 2" x 13/16"
SOLD
I hoped this day would never come, but it's here.... banging on the door. I'm having to part with some of my cherished possessions to help fund major home repairs.
This is the first of several items I will have to put up for sale. It's a Barbers Delight Esher 5 7/8" long, 2" wide and between 13/16" to 7/8" in thickness (there is a slight taper in thickness). I have flattened the top sufficiently to hone a couple of razors, as there was quite a crown on the top. Someone had attempted to sharpen something on it so there were scratches in the surface, but the light, incomplete flattening removed all but a tiny chip on one edge that would be completely gone if one finishes the flattening job. I didn't want to flatten it any more just to try it out... and it sure is nice, but I placed it at the back of the cabinet to save it for a rainy day.... <groan> And now it's raining in my basement.
I did spritz a little cellulose lacquer on the labels so they would not fall apart from getting wet, but not enough to glue them down to the stone.
The slurry stone is missing, as is the bottom of the cardboard box (can be seen in the last photo). I used my 1200 grit diamond plate to raise a light slurry and that worked fine.
Feel free to ask any questions, The price I'm asking is $300 and I believe it's in the right ball park, but shipping will be extra. The cost of shipping depends on service and destination requested. I am in Canada and you can check the services and costs at https://goo.gl/qc5xfc using postal code R2Y 0B3.
Thank you
Christian
