Default Mottled Black Thuringian for sale

This is a stone that I got from Peter (Hatzicho) a while back and seldom sees the light of day anymore.

Fast with a slurry. Very good, comfortable finisher. Can be used as a barber hone or a single-hone solution like UniCot/DiluCot.

    Quality: Mottled black, grey-orange stripes

    Size: 16 x 5 x 1.8 cm (6 1/4 x 2 x 11/16")

    Weight: 400 g

Mottled black thuringian hone from the late mining period in the thuringian mountains. The green variety of these hones was formerly sold and known as "Schwedenstein".

These hones are a little harder than the well known thuringian hones of the simple green or blue quality, but also act a little faster while honing.

Nice example with original saw marks visible on the sides, backside planed by vintage whetstone original old planing machine. Backside and sides sealed with lacquer.

Small chips on the backside, hangover, not harmful for honing.

Lapped, chamfered, and ready to go.

$85 shipped USPS Priority - CONUS only

I've requested that the title be changed to avoid any confusion around the 'schwedenstein' term. I just copied the original listing and was alerted by a fellow member that it might be misleading.

I did a touchup this morning with this stone and it is a great performer.

After using this hone again this morning, I believe I'm going to take this off the market for a while.

    Thanks
