I had these listed a few weeks ago without the Thuri for this same price, I removed it as I thought it had sold else where but I was being messed about, so now re listed with an extra boxed and labeled stone!!!!

2 Rare Scottish hones & a boxed labeled Thuringan,
1st up is a Very very rare Ayrshire hone boxed with label, dimensions of the stone are approximately 13cm x 2.3cm x .5cm
I have never used this, Its been in my collection for a few years, it looks flat and smooth with no chips,

2nd stone, Is a Pale (Not white, but I have had darker ones) Tam O shanter in a Mauchline ware box with Burns cottage on it, the label and 1885 Gold Standard exhibition stamp are located in the lid, there is a little bit of warpage on the box as seen from the side to be expected considering age and you are mixing water with wood! The stone is very good condition especially for its age.
    The stone measures approximately 16.5cm x 3.5cm x 1.5cm. also lapped flat

And the Thuri is also boxed and set into the cox size is 12cm x 2.5cm and about .5 above the box, also lapped flat

I have lapped this stone on a worn DMT but never used it, its fee from cracks chips ect... and perfectly flat ready to use.

price for the 2 is $275

Shipping is $25 (this is Tracked and signed postage from the UK)

Stone would be fine for everyday use, but Perfect for a collector or rare labeled hones/stones

Pictures show the stones sprayed with water to show the unique pattern of the Scotch hones

I have read this twice and at first it appears that you are selling three stones then at the end it says two. Since no one else has said anything I'm assuming I'm mistaken.

It seems to me that two hones were previously listed and now are listed with another hone but using some info from the previous listing.
You might want to PM the seller to clarify.

Yes it's for all 3 stones in the pictures 2 x Scottish and the boxed thuri
    My mistake well spotted.

I do have the 2 Scottish hones listed on ebay at £199 (which is approx $275) but here for SRP members I have added the Thuri for the same $275 price!!!!

Very interesting. I've seen labelled Water of Ayr stones that were a dark blue and always thought that the name was synonymous with Ayrshire. But this labelled Ayrshire is much lighter. Are they different stones entirely?

These are just stones Ive had in my collection but never used, I would say the Ayrshire is a different stone due to the colour, probably some variant of the TAM maybe a relabeled/named white TAM as its a speckled stone, thats just my guess.
I do own a labelled WoA and yes that is a very dark blue with the odd speckled patch in there. especially with the writing being a similar font on the label.

It is a very rare stone so not much information other than whats on the label really, Ive seen way more Labelled WoA than I have Ayrshire stones

Thanks for the observations. I agree in having seen more labelled Water of Ayr stones as I don't recall having seen a labelled Ayrshire stone. I like the TOS without the spots description. I've seen some TOS stones formatted like this Ayrshire for penknife use. "Directions for setting razors" on the Ayrshire label: I wonder if "setting" is a coded reference for starting an edge or "setting the bevel" as we like to say.

I have a dual Scotch Hone, and the WOA on mine is indeed quite dark. Also notice the "rivers" in the stone, I believe a key indicator of the WOA:
