    Default Large Aiiwatani Razor Stone

    Selling for $110 shipped

    Aiiwatani stone

    Measurements:
    206mm x 94mm x 20-33 mm
    1.22kg

Got from a trade and cut to shape by him (trade value was ~$200)
    Hard smooth stone
Speed is slightly less than middle of the road
Tradeoff with lower speed is feedback is smoother
There are su holes while can be filled with superglue, but they can't easily be felt.
Competitive with Kyoto razor stones, very similar to the Alex Gilmore razor stones I sold, but I prefer this one more. A bit harder and finer and more consistent. Doesn't ball up as much. . . slurry feels smoother.

The bottom is undercut. Filling with something there can make it flat, which I can do, but it will obscure the kawa

The zoomed in image -- the kanna still has some lower grit scratches on the hard steel. Otherwise -- the stone makes a mirror. Speed and bite is increased when a diamond plate is used, or a nagura can be used for a finer slurry and edge.
The different parts sharpen pretty similarly. There are su holes, but they haven't spit anything out in use.

The stone feels smoother than some of the hard non-kiita razors stones I got from The Japan Stone. It's subtle though. Smooth as in, the protrusions of the grit from the surface -- the grit doesn't protrude as sharply (these are razor stones, so relatively speaking). Like all hard stones, a slurry can be built by sharpening in one place, and then using longer strokes or higher pressure to increase cutting speed and make a slurry cushion.

    Hi,

I had notifications on for my email still, but the stone was traded and I forgot to mark this one as sold.

    Thanks!
