    That is what I thought.

    7 degrees is VERY low. I have played with a few blades that low and (dare I say it?) they were too sharp for my tastes. Additionally you must have a stellar steel/heat treat for an edge to exist that low...and even then it will be fragile and susceptible to collapse at that angle.

    Bob and Unit ..... it is the smiling Case Bros Springville, NY that I have posted pix of before. It is super hard steel, or at least abrasion resistant. Tried honing it with one layer when I first go it but it was difficult to tape, and I went sans tape. Still maintained a narrow bevel and got a good edge after a lot of work. Very little hone wear and a narrow bevel, that has held up well in maybe half a dozen shaves, in spite of the narrow spine.
