    Default My Flea Market Find

So I was out at a local flea Market and got an oil/swarf caked stone in a wooden coffin for $5. Had no idea what it was, but for $5 I didn't really care. Cleaned it up to reveal this, the label really helped identify it!

Pike Lily White Washita. It also says on the label Hard Arkansas. I don't have any "before" shots as I'm terrible at remembering to take them, but the pictures are of the surface that's been freshly lapped. Used a SiC stone, then a DMT then dressed the surface with my norton 1K. Still smells of oil. Thinking about trying it on an Ebay special after bevel set. I'm thinking my progression will be Norton 1K, Lily White (with Smith's honing Solution), Coti, strop.

Nice stone. It will smell of oil as it is porous and so far all Lilly Whites which I have seen in unused state were true to their name.
