    Default Syachi Oil Stone?

I asked my Dad if he had any stones, he has a Syachi Oil Stone he picked up from...well lets just say an old job Anyways here is what he said about it.

"I cannot find this manufacturer (see photos) but it is a two sided stone. Probably used with three in one oil or the like (rather oily and dirty). Has been used and metallic film attached to both sides. The grit seems quite fine. Yours if you want it?"

Is it possible I could use with a straight?

Actually I've never seen this stone before,,,I can only guess & say it is a dual grit Aluminum Oxide material stone,,,but I will let GOOGLE be my friend later tonight & see if I can find the manufacturer & read what they have to say about it.

Maybe someone else will have a definite answer before then.

Looks a lot like an India oil stone. It's not suitable for razors, however would most likely be good for kitchen type sharp stuff.
