Thanked: 0Coticule Help!
Bought a coticule and tried to do a touch up, now razor is not shaving well. Still cuts arm hair but that's about it. Do I need to do more than just water and 30 passes? My razor is Ralf Aust honed by Lynn about 4 months ago. Thanks

Thanked: 4942I would try about 10 weight of the blade X strokes with a light slurry followed by 10 weight of the blade X strokes using just water, then strop and see what happens. If you want you can do 3-5 X strokes on chromium oxide following the coticule before stropping too.
Have fun.

I just received a coticule kit from Classic Edge, Phil said he picked me out a real nice stone.
On the website, he links to two methods, I'm going to try this one, with a test blade:

Of course it depends on the coticule too. They can vary quite a bit as to quality finishing wise.

10 strokes with only the weight of blade AKA no pressure.
