Default Norton 8k defect, worth warranty?

    Hey all,

I don't typically like to nitpick with products but my norton 4k/8k combo stone came with a pocket of material that was not mixed in with the binder. I tried to lap the heck out of the stone to get past it but it seems to run pretty deep. I can avoid this part of the hone pretty easily but I would prefer just having a surface free of defects. So I have two questions. One do you think it will have any effect on the honing? Two is this even worth submitting for warranty?
    thanks all!

I think that if your unhappy with it & can articulate the reasons, then talk to the company about it. Only takes a phone call & a little time. I doubt that many 4/8's are returned, so they may send you another.
Your interaction will them, will make all the difference, so bring candy, everybody likes candy.

You didn't pay five bucks for it so you deserve a first rate product not a second. I'd talk to the seller.

Thank you both, I found the contact for norton stones and sent them an email. I received the stone as a gift so it may not be possible but I figure it's worth a try. It will be a long long time for me to get through that stone so I would prefer to have it intact.
