got my razors in a bad way so i finally broke down and got a Norton 4/8 quarter hone from larry and a naniwa 12k barbers hone. i had to set the bevel on two and go down to the 8k for the other. it could have just been a lack of experience but the barbers hone by itself did not give good results once i dropped it down to a lower grit i could tell the difference between coming off the 8 and the 12
between Lynns honing method and my knife sharpening experience it seemed to get the job although it is a completely different animal. they all wound up shave ready
