What type is this?
Can anyone identify this stone? The description says it is a Barber's hone, but the wooden box, and the variable color makes me think otherwise.

As you know, it's filthy & hard to tell what it is,,,
How about the name? Try GOOGLE FU on the name & maybe a company will pop up.

Looks more like a machinist's or woodworker's bench stone. Especially with the e\wear pattern of honing. The chipped back edge shows a rough grit.
But, Barber hone has a common place in the ten word 'bay title description.

Pretty dirty, but my first impression was Arkansas.

,,,,,,,,,,Easy,, I love you man,,,the FU is taken from "Kung Fu" ,,,meaning you can try your GOOGLE skills , in other words your "GOOGLE FU" to try & research the name , which might lead to an article with a picture of a similar hone.
I have a blue belt in GOOGLE FU,,, guys like Martin, Manah, Tom & Neil,,they are black belts in GOOGLE FU.
,,,,sadly though, since you had to ask what it was, this puts you in the white belt category for now, but that's O.K.

I must be in the White belt category as well, in Australia this has a completely different meaning! If you told someone on the street to FU or F-U they would probably punch you.. Or give you an evil look of disgust wondering what they ever did to you!
Try the third link down
