Thread: Northern NJ Meetup?

Hi all,

I am very much in need of some one-on-one honing help and inspiration. How many of us are there in the northern NJ/metro NYC area? It would be fantastic to spend a few hours learning from one another. I'm in Ringwood, NJ, and I work not far from the GW Bridge. Anyone else interested?

As a novice honer, I'm interested to hear about some of your experiences and where it is you might be having trouble. There's not doubt that some, if not all of us have been there in one facet or another. I have blundered my way through a blade or two

Hi Simon. I am slowly making my way to a level of consistent mediocrity. Not quite there yet. I can't believe there aren't more honeheads around here in North Jersey. I would be happy to meet up with you, but it would be much better to have an experienced hone meister in the room. Otherwise, it's the blind leading the blind.

I have a Norton set of combo stones, some lapping film, and a Chinese 12k,along with a Whipped Dog paddle strop. What's your setup?

Jim, show up for the march meet up and meet two very highly qualified honing experts. Once u meet them you can set up a one on one. Both bill3123 and Nelson are extremely qualified and have already privately met with many of us for a one on one

Bring a razor with you and watch nelson put an edge on it.

LOL. I wasn't suggesting I mentor you. I'm new to honing myself. I was merely trying to inquire if there was an identifiable area with which you were having issues.
