Default Who said talking about shaving doesn't pay off...

Was at a party last night with some really old buddies, the four of us all went to University together, and one of our old friends, had dual US/Canadian citizenship, and he was the first of us to get married.

When we were all invited down to New Jersey for the wedding, needless to say, we were stunned to find out he was marrying the daughter of a freakin' General in the US Army!!

So, the reception was at West Point Officers Club and we stayed at the Hotel, what a sense of history, the club was like a museum, I wandered around, looking at a portrait of General Custer, and many more interesting things.

Also, when they post the base speed limit at 5 mph - they really, really mean it.

Anyhow, we went back to when he lost his shaving travel kit, and ended up buying this old Gillette DE, still has it 25 years later, there was none of the stuff we talk about here, to him it was how he shaved...haha!

So he goes to his basement, and lays this stone on me for razors, don't know much about it, but here's a pic, it's brand new, still in the box from when he picked it up years ago...any ideas or is this more for knives...thanks as always!

We took these on his phone from his basement last night....it says 00 Frictionite on it...

That's a great score! Frictionite has a cult following here. Never used it but it's supposed to be one of the best barber hones ever.

Oh come on, we want to read about the "New Principles in Double Aught Frictionite". Fire that photographer.

    Sweet.

That's tons better than the eye-rollin' sidewise glances we normally get from "regular" folks.

Well Phrank scores again. They are very heavily sought after, and fetch some high numbers for barber hones. I think the sit number two behind the Norton barbers hone for popularity. Not to say that they are the finest one out there but fast cutting and smooth shaving. I have a few too but I had to pay for mine. LOL

Thanks - with a name like Frictionite I would've never figured it would be used in the str8 shaving world, what with Norton, Swaty and all the other interesting names out there...thanks for the info.

Honestly Pfrank, a Frictionite for nothing? All I ever get from old college buddies is the cold shoulder or lunch at the most. Good score!.

A general's daughter sounds great, all the freaky and all the polish a man could want.
Back to razors, forgot the question
