Well that is sounding pretty good. I trust that what you are saying is that your rock is softer than the ZG and the slurry on it is from your rock. You are getting good scratch patterns from that.

Should be able to make a couple more as good as the one I crafted yesterday I hope....I'll eventually get one to you Rez lol

I'd like to find out what the grit equivalent of this stone is though, I don't have HAD....yet. So I don't have a big selection...I've always used the same 2 stones....but this ones definitely improved on my finishing stone.

One of my favorite razors for checking scratch patterns in an old FReynolds faux frame back. It has a fairly heavy blade resulting in a fairly wide bevel. It is easier for my can't see up close vision. Smoothing and polishing is what we are looking for. I am also always on the lookout for a natural bevel setter that is a little quicker than my BBW. Nice to see a couple of others having some success.

Good idea, might use it on a wedge when I get a chance, busy day at the barber shop on fridays

Going to try the masonry blade today...this'll be dusty. I picked up a another few rocks yesterday.

lap lap lap lap lap I gotta cut some SMALLER and get a DMT double coarse. Going to try some limestone for "pre" lapping today too. Picked up some of that too whilst i was down in the flatlands.

I was thinking, and I know that is always dangerous. Back in the way back when era they wouldn't have had diamond blades or abrasive blades. Do you suppose it was all done with a saw similar to a hacksaw in blade design. My Escher has really little teeth marks on it the remind me of a hacksaw. When I am back home from work I thick I will try it out.
