Yes, with the 16" blade it makes a 6" deep cut. It is a brute to wield and no need to go the the gym after a few hours of cutting rock.

And the salmon fishing? We have world class salmon and halibut fishing not to mention the hunting is pretty good. We don't have a barber shop either, just sayin'

I don't have the classic Canadien winter. It is not very cold in the winter, and cool in the summer. You should google Haida Gwaii.

Well I've spent the last week grading the rocks I picked up.

So far all that has come of it is a lot of rock with grit inclusions in all the wrong places. I have a few lumps that are fine, and a few small bouts but nothing that's good enough to make a hone. I'm planning another trip to see the guy that owns it. I have a small bout that will be perfect for what he wants, and I've managed to get 2 small lumps that will work for the Roman fort that wanted one making as a pass around for the kids.

Of the rocks I picked up there was a large variety in locations that I collected from. The only location that has produced the correct stone is the whittle hill site. And next time the boot will be full of rocks just from that site.

All is not lost, What I've learned about this rock means I can go back armed. I know what to look for externally, And I Know what to avoid. Once I get the next batch I hope to be able to make good the few promises I made, Vasilis I'm looking right at you

At home the tool department has now expanded as well.

9" angle grinder with a dry cut diamond disc.
4 1/2 " angle grinder with a dry cut disc and a flapper wheel that is good for the external clean up.
2 sets of cheap diamond plates.
    2 rolls of drywall mesh.

The tools are working well. I can make cuts 4" deep, I can flatten the grind marks out in a reasonable time.

These are the lumps that went to the Roman fort.
