    Default Snagged a coti today

    Estate sale, 75 cents,about 3x6.Lots of purple Stria on the coti surface.
    Anyone have a clue as to what it is (other than a coti)

    I'm not the best person to answer this but it seems that the cot is with more strata are finer. I don't have any experience with them though. Or maybe they usually sell so high purely for aesthetic reasons rather than finishing ability. Give it a test shave and I think you will figure out a lot about the stones quality. Heck, I'll give you twice what you paid for it! Kidding of course. haha. Nice find!!

    Just lapped it, is a nice smooth stone, will try it like a barber hone,next time I shave in about a week or so

    if it's a coti then probably a La Grise layer, should be nice finischers but not the quickest type, but for 75 cents,..

    Yep, in searching some of the coti sites I also came up with La Grise.Thanks
