Thanked: 284Yeah japannippon is heavy in straights, but I too just noticed he has a bunch of stones up. Not sure how you'd verify anything until you buy it unfortunately.
I love living in the past...

Disclaimer: I have no experience with this seller.
Based upon the descriptions and prices posted I think you would be better served to buy a stone through maxim Japanese Natural Stones Toishi or alx nakayama ohira awasedo natural japanese stones thejapanblade. For the same or less money you can get stones of known and guaranteed quality from them especially if you are looking for finishers. The ones listed in the ebay listing are not really as fine as we would expect a jnat for razors to be, ie- they seem to be better suited for knives.

If I give Maxim, Alx, or any other rock seller one more dollar, my wife is going to
You can take that to the bank! I'm just trying to help others be irresponsible!

I see nothing special about this stone. And the seller is overpricing his goods. I especially like the "rare" word behind his kamisori. If he has 80 rare ones, they stop being rare.

Yes, those stones aren't cheap enough to take the risk. We have a few sellers who hone razors, are honest, and have excellent stones. Why would anyone want to buy from anyone else, if he want a stone which is 100% sure to give a good shave. If this isn't important, than ofc you can buy from any seller, and hope the best.

Thanked: 177Afames Tokyo is another place to find quality stones, not knocking the other sellers as I've bought from both of them as well and would recommend them as well.
