This appears to be the same hone, despite the color differences. Perhaps the review might help.

Thanks for the link!! I was going to do the same test but now I might just keep it as a display piece or something.

I had a C'Mon double-sided hone that was the same colours as yours, even had the same sticker on the side. The embossed panel was different, of course. As far as I know all these hones were made by the American Hone Co at Olean, NY, and just 'badged-up' for different customers, so I am pretty sure that mine cut like yours will cut, given the similarity of the two.

Mine was nearer the 10k mark on the finishing side. Never did test the rough side. However, these barbers hones tend to break down over time, and attempting to flatten them sometimes has marked consequences, so perhaps that is how the other came to be rated at 8k. In fairness, though, 8k isn't that bad for a hone of this type, I would reckon that quite a high percentage fell into this range, some around 10k and precious few around 15k.

    Regards,
    Neil

Wasn't looking to use it. I'm to used to my Naniwa's. It was given to me. Im thinking of putting it on the bay. I'm not much of a Dubl Duck guy.
