I google, I search SRP, I scratch my head: is there such a thing as the Rare Rose Thuringian? This seller seems to get a lot of stones.....maybe has a lot of stones also.
I know there are some experts here on Thuringians, I hope they can illuminate this."Call me Ishmael"

Thanked: 1936Corners are not chamfered & aweful thick for most thuringians I have ever seen. I've never seen a thuringian with all the shades and colors either, most are quite uniform. That stone just screams "found locally"...but I could be wrong as I wouldn't know until I put a razor across it. WOuld I want to try it for that kind of money...nope.

Thanked: 4830I bought a black thurigian from that seller. That is not what it was. I did however get a way better hone than that. What it actually is is a Pierre La Lune special hone for good razors only. It was not even a German hone, but a good one. He does sell a lot of hones. He said that an old barber told him it was a rose thurigian. It is a gamble for sure, the big question is how much do you spend on a mystery bag?

A "Rose Thuringian"? We're just allowed to make stuff up now? What am I bid for my Neptunian Dragon's Tongue?

Poking around the site the hone most resembles a Charnley Forest Hone.

I like to see shots of the side of the stone too. Not sure what that is.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
