Thanked: 8I Just Got A New Hone
I just bought this a couple days ago. I am going to lap it when I get it delivered, it's a Guangxi 12000?? hone
Can someone let me know if it's a good stone please? Lol

All stones are good, some just better than others.
Read the threads in this link, they will help you.

I absolutely love mine and have gotten very consistent results with it but each one is a bit different. Buttery smooth and very sharp edges. Lap it and learn how to use your particular stone and you'll be happy.
What a curse be a dull razor; what a prideful comfort a sharp one

Pretty sure I bought mine from the same seller. A very hard stone of some high grit or other. I use it after my Norton 4/8k and as a refresher with good results. Be sure to read through the threads linked at the Library entry that Hirlau links above. Enjoy!

Oh, and if you want a slurry stone of the same material ("C12k"), see zib's entry in the Classifieds here on SRP.

Thanked: 3795For anyone else looking to buy one, Woodcraft has them in two sizes for $41 and $25. They are already smooth and so will require much less time for lapping them.

Thanked: 2Honing really is a matter of technique. A true master can use one but I have found it really scratches the finish left by my 8k Norton
