I bought one as well from a polish eBay seller.
Came very crude, I posted a thread about it under the hone section as well.
I've been experimenting with it and various slurry stones and find it does give an acceptable finish edge. I mostly now use the supplied slurry stone on edge slightly to develop a milky slurry and dilute to clear during the strokes.
I have a Zulu gray as well as a charnley forest coming so will have more educated comparisons over the next few months..
Lots of great thread suggestions if you search for cnat, or phig on SRP as well.
    Good luck.

There's an entry in the Library about the Guangxi (= C12k = PHIG), and that entry includes links to two very informative forum threads on the stone.

Whatever grit mine is, it provide a good finish after the 4/8k.

The one that I have leaves a fantastic edge. It is pretty slow on just water, but the slurry speeds things up. From all the other threads I have read about them is that they vary a lot from stone to stone. It was the perfect stone to break in my DMT.

For anyone reading this thread who has not purchased one already, you can buy this hone from Woodcraft and the hone will be smooth--no saw marks. You may still need to lap it but it will be a lot less work.

+1 to this. I spent a few hours lapping mine perfectly flat and I have a rubbing stone that came with it. I use a slurry and then dilute it down with water until I am at clear water and then ultra light strokes and it leaves a crazy sharp edge that gives me smooth BBS shaves right off the stone (although I touch up with pastes and strop after first shave).. Pretty slow but I don't mind. I just sit and watch TV and hone away. I guess they do vary a bit. Then again it could be many factors that account for that besides the stone but all natural stones are going to vary. I bought mine off Ebay before I heard about Woodcraft. Maybe someday I'll buy one from them to compare since they are pretty inexpensive.

I have one I bought from Wood Craft. I use right after my 8k, then on to my ZG. Expect to spend some time on this one - I'm usually around 150 X strokes

Haven't tried one yet, but probably will someday. I have read dozens of threads and hundreds of posts about them here at SRP.
