    I've had a similar issue with my King 1K/6K combo. I ended up with two cracks in the 6K side. I believe the issue was soaking and drying the whole stone, I can't get away from soaking the 1K but just putting enough water in a dish to soak the 1K side with the 6K sitting above the water line has remedied the issue for me.

    LOL - well the great news is, I have friends who just so happen to be fluent in Japanese!! I am going to copy that and ask one of them to translate it for me.

    If he takes it seriously and does a good job of it rather than... well I don't know, then I'll post the translation here!

    I've had a Norton 4k/8k split at the seam, I lapped both inner surfaces and glued it back together with marine epoxy. So far so good
