Thanked: 24looks like a Welsh Slate type of hone, I would guess a Dragon Togue when looking at the colors in your second image, it looks like it has been abused quite a bit, where did you get it?

Looks to be welsh slate.
You can get 3 in a bulk pack off ebay pretty cheap.

Thanked: 433If the slurry is purple it could be a Llyn Melynllyn (Yellow Lake). Mine is roughly 10k. It works with water or oil

Thanked: 1That would have been nice but the slurry is a pale gray. I thing it might be a slate but it's much finer than my DT. Not bad for the price 50p (84 cents)

Reminds me a bit on the Silkstone i have...talking about black and grey slates its really difficult to differ because there are several
stones around (Dragons Tongue, Yellow Lake, Silkstone, etc...).....
