Question Grit particle shape - photomicrographs?

Over in the world of woodworking a question has been asked about the effect
of grit particle shape on sharpening action.

Does anyone here know of (or have) images
of the actual particle shapes for various abrasives?

(waterstones, coticules, arkansas, India, slates, diamonds
    would all be of interest)

The coticule photos show not particles but the garnet xtls. They look like dodecahedrons to me.
