I have an edition of Mein Kampf in my collection of war literature. Literature that is not taught in our public schools anymore. My son just recently went through his very brief(about a week) study of WW II & he had a few Hitler questions that his young teacher didn't cover. Knowledge comes from many sources as you know, some not so pleasant.
There was a beautiful Raven hone on the bay yesterday. Might still be. Looks to be in great shape and includes the box and I think instructions. Probably nothing special but I really like it for some reason. It's killing me not to buy it but I am saving for a Naniwa SS 12k and a DMT D8C.

If you need a stone to hone & finish on, not collect, then keep saving.

i posted this razor before looking for info, but it fits in here as well. It has a couple swastikas on it but being stamped Worcester, MA makes me believe it isn't nazi related but who knows. I bought it because it was unique and I still haven't seen another one like it. I don't collect nazi memorabilia either even though one of the antique stores I frequent has a ton of it!!

The U.S District Courthouse (old building) in New Mexico is mostly used for the bankruptcy court these days however the main courtroom is decorated with hundreds of swastikas. Just behind where the judge sits is a huge eagle with a huge swastika in it's talons. if you didn't know it was an American Indian symbol it could be shocking.

in some cultures it was a symbol of good luck. I'm sure it had other meanings as well. I think I've seen it as a dress print.

I know what you mean. When I decide I can afford to buy one there might not be any around to buy and even if there is it wont be this one. The collector in me is really squirming right now. It is a dilemma. I have the same feeling when I walk out of a store without buying a razor that I liked. I think the 12k and dmt will serve me better at the moment. Eventually when I am honing my own razors and saving the money I would have spent sending them out; I will have more money to spend on things like that.

On the other hand all I need right now is something to refresh edges with...
