Your opinions please !!
I work at a coal fired power plant, and the pipes that feed the coal to the burners are lined with ceramic tiles. I got a hold of some used ones and thought of trying them out as a finishing hone. Your thought please. I have spent 5 hour lapping it with a DMT lapping plate, although not quite done yet, but it is a very hard surface. This tile has had millions of tons of coal running across it's surface, just to tell you how hard it is !!

Thanked: 24interresting for sure and I'd love to hear wheter or not it works
I do think that these where produced in order to resist breaking but I don't think this entails they aimed for an homogeneuous grainsize in these tiles but who knows?

Of course Bituminous Coal is pretty soft stuff if they use Lignite it's even softer. Whether you tile works will depend on what it is made of. There's all kinds of ceramic.
