The Zulu had landed!
Got my Zulu Grey in the mail very excited. Does anyone have a recommendation as to how high I should go with lapping? Is my DMT 325 too rough?

Thanked: 375I lapped mine with a DMT 325, and had good results, but I think it's recommended to go higher, maybe a Atoma 1200 or 1500 grit sand paper on a known flat surface. My hone came pretty much flat, and I think most people have had the same experience. I like mine, the slurry is a B#$*h to raise (use my DMT to do that though).
Also there is a thread or two that talks about the ZG that's been on going, you may want to look into via the search barCHRIS

My personal theory.
If a crack in a natural stone will not effect it when lapped,
then the striations from my DMT8C will not effect it either.
My Naniwa 12k finishes beautifully having been lapped and maintained via the DMT 8C.
JMOIt is just Whisker Whacking
Relax and Enjoy!

Thanks, I've been checking out the Zulu threads just now. I just ordered a cc dmt for slurry purposes. The Zulu site says they leave lapped up to 1500 but that might be overkill I thought.
