Default Zeepk - S Hone Stone

I got this Zeepk - S Hone Stone when I first purchased my straight razor a while back and have since been honing my straight razor now. It seems to develop some slurry when honing but I was not sure of it's grit tried to find out but there was unable too get any result. I was hoping if anyone can tell me if this is a natural stone and what grit it would have.Name: DSCF0195.jpg

that's a really bad picture. Try to get a couple. wet and dry and an edge shot. not that i will be able to tell much but there are many here with a lot of knowledge on the subject.

Normally synthetic waterstones are more porous than natural ones, then less heavy
Specific weight for synthetics is approximately 2 while for naturals it is close to 3.

From what I've read the Zeepk hone would be best suited as a paper weight.

AFAIK everything razor-related bearing the Zeepk brand is trash. That incudes razors, hones and strops.

The learning curve involved with straight razor shaving and honing is steep and can be long. Using inferior razors or hones makes the curve less steep, but the problem is that it then goes in a downward direction.

Wow sounds like I would get a better edge for my razor by using a 800/1K oil lube hones one uses for hone chisels then the Zeepk hone I have.Name: DSCF0201.jpg

I have to agree, anything Zeepk is questionable at best

I guess I will looking at the local flea markets or surplus stores and see if I can find a water hone cheap or one of those Woodstock hones on Amazon at least until I can find a Norton and Naniwa combo.
