Stones I've cut but not yet finished¬
I was asked to take some pictures of some of the stone I have been cutting and playing with.
Everything in the pictures is gathered from the Charnwood forest area. However non is from the Whittle Hill Quarry site. This stuff as all from other locations.
There are 6 siltstone types, and 4 of something else (possibly a diorite),
The front bouts are the most typical of each stone type.
Nice CF type, But quite hard.
Very hard CF type, Same stone as the square bout front left of group image.
Very very hard CF type.
Same stone as above very very hard CF type.
Real name, Blake

Same stone as the front left bout on group image.
Same stone as the nicely cut hone on the Right hand side. Very very hard stone. This bout needs it's face cutting.
Very very hard stone, Slow cutting, but it keeps polishing very much like an Arkansas hone.
All the Dioritics.
All of the hard CF types.
I'm really enjoying the found it over there thread. I just didn't want to spam it with loads of images!
I'm slowly getting the hang of cutting the stone to look and feel like a real hone!
And some of them actually work!!!Real name, Blake

They look nice. Perhaps you could tumble the offcuts for decoration/jewelry.

You'll like them even more in a few mins.... Just cut the smaller of the 2 banded ones today. And have just finished polishing them up a little.
That little stone has made 3 stones, I've finished 2.
One is 6.5 x 1.5 x 0.5 inches.
The other is 7 x 1.5 x 0.5 inches.
Pictures very soonReal name, Blake
