    Default Wonky Bevel

Hi, I've been honing for over a year and a couple of my razors , ones which I learnt to hone with, don't sit flat on the hone.
Either the toe or the heel is raised off the hone on one side.
Which means that on the other side of the blade, the toe and heel get more pressure than the middle.
Has this occurred because I was using uneven pressure? Or maybe my hones weren't flat.
Can I fix the blades now .
I can still get nice edges on them but the whole process would be easier if it sat flat on the hone.
    I've added some pics .
You can see the fat bevel part in the middle..
    Cheers

Check out the PDF, and the 'rolling x stroke' tutorial. If a razor has a smile it won't sit flat on the hone from heel to point. Go with the profile and it will work out fine. IME.

If you become proficient at the rolling X stroke and you get the bevel you want could you post pics of the after?

Could the problem have occurred because the spine isn't straight..
You can see it dips in the middle

Did the blade have a slight smile before honing it? I mean did it follow the profile of the spines slight curve?

You need a more experienced eye than I have but looking at that razor is making me dizzy....this isn't one of those trick optical illusion things is it?

It was from the first picture I posted (with the taped spine) that I noticed the dipped spine.
    I never realised that before.
However I'd still lay money on the wonkey bevel and spurred heel being caused by my uneven pressure .
Also, when I first started honing I was using way to much pressure.
Now im too scared to hone my new blue steel base camp x blade.
    Look im showing it off
Although it has a straight spine.
