    Wow, how come I didn't know that ? I just checked out my vintage Norton/Pike Hard Ark and sure enough, it is a translucent. The flashlight trick worked. I also think the hone in the OP is a hard ark of some kind. Probably a translucent.
    Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
