    Default My Nakayma Karasu....

    Picked this up a couple months ago - really amazing stone and very pretty too:

    It's about 8 x 3" and a bit more than a half inch thick. I've finished a few of my collection with it and the shaves are sublime. Worth the $$$ it cost!

    Beautiful stone! Karasu are henkie sometimes but awesome when you figure them out.

    Took me a couple tries to get it down - actually pretty forgiving and a fast cutter too. I start with a lightish slurry and dilute down to water then do a few final very light passes on an almost dry stone. Last blade I did was a vintage Revisor 4/8 full hollow - shaved with it this am - very sharp and smooth.
