Thread: Translation Job on: Charles Gaspard / Coticules "L'industrie de la Pierre a rasoir.."

Since digging deeper in the History of Companies selling Hones and owning Quarrys where the stones have mined i was always interested in the History on Coticules and the Companies quarrying and selling those very nice stones.

I really like the Information Henk (Margeja) did concerning the Grinding and Honing Part 4 on "Belgian Whetstones" (INFO20M) and the people which worked with him on this project, to name here the persons Henk mentioned in his document:

Maurice Celis, Bart Torfs, Marek Bednarz, Stefan Wild, Jörg Plessl and Tony Geldoff not really knowing how much the people were involved...A lot of Information is already available as Henk shurely did spent a lot of time to gather all these information in this document...

On the other side there is so much information available on coticules where mostly of those files are in french language and many of us or many of the interested can't read or speak french, so i remember Bart Torfs started a thread where he wanted to start a project to translate Charles Gaspard's Work "L'industrie de la Pierre à rasoir dans la région de Sart-Lierneux"

This a is a 46 paged booklet with a lot of information about the History on Coticules and the work in the quarry....

So my goal was to re-start this project in any way, to make a translated English version of this document available for the English speaking members....i did contact Bart and asked for the actual status and if he has a possibility to make the text files available...

To clarify this is not planned as a SRP project, i want to spread this project over several shaving boards (probably also the french ones) and i like to gather native french/English speaking people or people having a certain quality status in translation french to English....as this was Barts project its not planned from me to overtake this in any way, i just want to be the one trying to re-activate the project and make a community thing out of it...

The work will be done on a Google Docs platform, here everybody interested in can work on a certain area of a text....
further more will be explained in detail when people want to participate on this project...

So if anybody is interested please give me a shot by PM, i will respond then and sent the google docs link...
