I too am confused why you would want to paste a Coticule edge?

Chrome Ox paste is usually used to smooth/calm an aggressive edge or to re-fresh a failing edge.

A good Coticule edge should be smooth and keen off the stone, and stropped on linen and leather for maintenance.

Diamond is a whole other animal, for keenness or refreshing and then pasted with Chrome Ox for comfort.

As said the amount of convexing will not affect a touch up on a stone. And if it did convex the bevel, that… would be a good thing.

Do not be misled by the grit equivalent of paste, while you do want progression at least going in the right direction, what paste does is tailor the edge for YOUR face or re-fresh and edge. The difference on your face between .50 CBN and .10 is so small, most would not notice it, even though it is about 130k grit difference between the two.

If you are going to experiment with paste, begin with Chrome Oxide, then Diamond .50 and .25 or CBN .50, .25 and .125.

Once you’re hooked, any fine grit powder will find its way to a strop.

I've used the TI paste and crox in the past, and I had great shaves with both of them. However, about a year ago I was in the same situation as you... a coticule on the way. Since that time and having figured out my particular stone, I haven't touched the TI paste or crox. Haven't felt the need, and after feeling that cot edge, I don't know if I want to either. JMHO.
