My new finisher!
My Shoubu-San has been working but it has 'needles' which feel funny (even though they don't seem to cause any problems), so I had been looking for another finisher, hopefully a Nakayama kiita or maybe asagi. Something affordable but fine for my last rock.
Today my local shop had a 'garage sale' and this was my score!
I honed up a rescue Issard and can hardly wait till morning to shave before work!

Local Shop? You mean like: The razors in these cases are arranged by centuries......these five cases are NOS razors arranged by countries......here is a nice selection of custom razors.........over in that area are the Belgian Coticules arranged by layers........my "local shop" has one thing I buy, Clubman!

Yep. It's called Kent of Inglewood and is related to a Japanese knife shop called Knifewear. Pretty cool to have something like that nearby, especially because otherwise most of the shaving stuff I need comes from outside of Canada, incurring shipping and duty. I know Fendrihan is also Canadian.

I think it's a smaller or odd shaped piece.

Thanked: 246Yeah as I've heard it explained, it's the Japanese version of a coticule "bout."

Btw, the shave was wonderful. Sharper than my previous jnat attempts but smooth and not crispy. No irritation or redness.
Happy camper.
