    Alex,
To truly learn your stone, you should use one finisher or the other. Your CF should impart a super sharp and crisp feeling edge with no need for another stone. Same for your Ozuku, you can adjust the way it feels on your face by leaving the slurry for a more soft feeling or diluting down the slurry to just a clean stone for a more crisp edge.

That's good. I bought some Norton honing oil awhile back & it'll come in handy on the Charnley!

Alex, glad to hear it worked for you... Make sure to share the "chisel trick" with others next time you see someone thinking a Charnley, Arkansas PHIG or other similar hard stone is a piece of junk because they haven't prepped it correctly! Happy honing!

I know for a fact that none of my stones are a piece of junk! You just have to go about it the right way which is one reason why I haven't used my Charnley Forest yet!

Good for you! Many people don't though, which is why every time I share stone prep info I also ask others to share the info. I can't even count the number of times I have seen people post that Arks and CF stones etc. are too coarse or leave too harsh of a finish to be used on a razor.

Thank you ! I will surely share the info with the others....the strange for me, that when I've searched after info for the charnley didn't find too much info about the stone, and nothing from the chisel....

All due respect, I wasn't trying to say that one should use that method because it was the only youtube post chowing how someone did it but if you watched it to the end, you'll see that he didn't shave arm hair with it either, but to avoid confusion, because of what you said, I deleted the post.

The video was a perfectly good demo of circle and chisel strokes. He did not follow with x-strokes, and he seemed to use the same number of strokes on both sides of the Kamisori, but oh well.
